Homestuck Re-read Part 13: INTERMISSION

Okay so I'm a day late for this one. It was a saturday so I wasn't expecting an upd8 and spent most of yesterday fixing the hole I got myself in on the fan game. Loading screen and the kinda main bit of the engine have been reworked to use an FSM to make it all a bit more maintainable (hopefully). Next is cleaning everything up a bit more and creating a more 'fixed' architecture for the future before I keep adding features.

I have a sopranos watch party to be at in a few hours, so lets see how much of the intermission I can do before then. Oh and we're gonna watch the animated pilot together, so I might put something about that at the end.

SPADES SLICK

I remember being so confused about the intermission and wanting to just skip it to get to "the good bit" just because how disconnected it seemed. I'm really glad my friends at the time talked me out of it, otherwise the later bits of Homestuck would have been even more confusing.

Anyway here we are doing The Midnight Crew, remember those guys from the mspa website earlier in the series? A gang of mobsters out to knock down their rival gang The Felt and get revenge on their enemy Lord English. There's a lot of clocks around, because these idiots are deep into temporal shenanigans and other bullshit. We're introduced to every head on this plush hydra, Except for snowman.

We get to see some more meta bullshit with how in the midnight crew Homestuck is the current mspaint adventure. As well as an introduction to duality, a concept more common in Problem Sleuth then Homestuck.

First Blood. Spades Slick put Itchy out of his misery. Clubs Deuce begins a dangerous game. Diamonds Droog takes a hit from the future and puts a plan in place. We get to see a wasteland in some ways similar to Earth years in the future, but not too similar.

Theres a guy in an oven. The time shit is about to get fucking convoluted. Fin gets shot up in the past from the present but survives. Die returns from his wasteland just to fulfill his name.

A forgotten bomb under a hat finally delivers it's payload. 7/15 Felt members are sleeping with the fishes. A different bomb under a hat prevents Fin from blowing Club Deuce's head off for following the blood trail Fin is leaving by following Club Deuce in the present from the past. Homestuck is a normal comic that is not hard to follow at all.

LORD ENGLISH

It's not the first time he's mentioned, but it's the first time we see something of his. The CAIRO OVERCOAT It's ripped and needs patching up at the moment, damage from ruptures in spacetime caused by the unstable loops created by the other felt members. Fin bleeds out on the tailor's floor right before a kidnapping takes place.
