Homestuck Re-read Part 23: I implemented javascript scripting in my go program and it's so much nicer then lua.

It's so, so much nicer. I've not wrote any jank code generation programs or hundreds of lines of boilerplate helper functions or anything. It all just works so seamlessly. I even integrated esbuild into the program directly so I can include typescript and have it transpiled to javascript at runtime in a small self contained package. If you're at all interested in embedding a scripting language into Go, here's a snippet you might find helpful.

Anyway I am done talking about go in my homestuck post, I want to get started with Homestuck!

Homestuck!

Vriska is, presumably, leading Tavros to his untimely death in a similar way to Terezi and John. Or at least that's what I thought before getting here. I don't fully remember this part. Very kiss heavy last few panels really. With some deeply upsetting implications.

It does lead into the troll romance page though, which is always very fun. Oh, troll romance. It's been so long since I've talked to someone who practices you. We even learn about troll reproduction and the role of buckets in their society.

FISH TIME

It's fish time! Finally we get introduced to the last 2 beta trolls. Eridan and Feferi, the sea-dwellers and the pinnacle of the alternian aristocracy. I will never get over that sick but adorable grin. Her full introduction finally brings the first mention of HER IMPERIOUS CONDESCENSION. Every time Eridan says moirail-zone I feel an electric shock. He just can't catch a break on either romantic fronts.

We learn a bit about Feferi's lusus, properly known as Gl'bgolyb. A creature of immense psychic power; were it to raise it's thoughts high enough the psychic pressure exerted would cause the death of all Alternians galaxy-wide. Emissary to the horrorterrors who inhabit the furthest ring of medium at the borders of paradox space.

Feferi breaks the moirailship(?) with Eridan off, since he's no longer at risk of genociding the land dwellers. I'm not sure he was ever really at risk of pulling it off, but that's more about his competence then commitment. Watching these two fish pun while Eridan does the 13 year old's first breakup/Mr Niceguy mixup routine is sort of hilarious. She's free now, and that's amazing.

I genuinely forgot how much I like Gamzee

He's just such a chill guy at the moment. He reminds me a little bit of the dude from The Big Lebowski in the sorta chilled out manner that things just seem to happen too him and he's just trying to go along with it.

Feferi awakens Sollux's dreamself, post death. Just in time for Spades Slick in the future to remind Karkat how much he hated them all.
