Homestuck Re-read Part 28: GOD TIERS
I've finally finished building most of my owner's website. I think at this point the only thing left is to just try and improve the API of my server and then convert this one to use it. I do want to build in some way of using tsx for templating and htmx support for easy server interactivity. Anyway

Dave welcomes Jade to the medium. He's clearly subsuming the alienating effects of time travel. Also we get a big Jade being correct moment about how snow is fun and cool! Girls love snow! Dave is gonna help Jade replace all the sburb equipment she lost in a weird kinda cutting John outta the loop manuever involving the laser station by reading a sburb captcha card.
Dave is being real smooth with his time travel. Dave talks about witnessing the horrorterrors of the furthest ring while asleep. He recalls what he understood their screeching to be
TG: a plea for help
The horrorterrors are being slaughtered en mass. They need help from Rose and Dave to save themselves somehow. Dave will create a map of the furthest ring with which to navigate to the green sun. Space and time fail to work properly in the furthest ring, unsterilized paradox space obeys no geometric model nor logical progression. The map will lead the seer to the green sun with the tumor in tow.
We also learn about Rose's informant of a non-alternian nature. A man from another universe who wants nothing more then to die. An omniscient who doesn't lie. A first guardian who's purpose is the summoning of his master.
Rose wants to bomb the green sun to take out Bec Noir and help out Doc Scratch (for altruistic reasons). A cosmic suicide mission.
Kanaya attempts to dissuade the suicide bombing of a piece of cosmic infrastructure based on the fact Rose's future becomes impenetrable to trollian's timeline. She is so concerned over it she won't stop at mere arguments, and has trained a wizard to combat her. A wwhite wwizard will set her straight.
anyway back to Jade
She's talking with Tavros! He wishes to commune with Jade's lusus and seeks her permission. It's not the first time he's done it; he did it before to save her life. Unfortunately a life taken must be paid for a life saved and this is how Jade's grandpa came to no longer be alive. It was a very unfortunate understanding Jade diagnoses Tavros as sounding deeply confused about self esteem and such. He confesses to having some red feelings for Jade which he hopes to see her reciprocate, which she does not. Partially on account of not knowing his name, mostly on account of not knowing eachother very well. I do imagine it is mostly just being older then 16 now but a lot more of the dialog does feel more teenager-y to me. I keep mentioning it with Vriska but you get it with lots of them and you are getting a lot of it with Tavros at the moment.
The conversation does not end great. It even includes some bullying from Vriska because Jade was using a projector computer. Wait. Oh no, Tavros is communing with Bec anyway? God Vriska's bullying is, a lot. You can definitely see why she is such a divisive character. We also learn that Jade isn't narcoleptic, it was just Vriska beams. And that Vriska was responsible for the derse agents creating Bec?
Vriska's powers have a terrifying reach. Beyond the fourth wall hidden in Jade's attic. The clouds re-close over John. Just in time for an adventure.
We see our first mention of god tiers from Vriska in this flash, and the next page is
John: Proceed to Quest Bed.
The music in this flash is just, downright magical. I cannot seem to find a music credit for it however.
QUEST BED
We see the quest bed of the heir of breath atop a giant spire. Vriska lets John decide if she should put him under, which he agrees too. We see the devil himself looming over John and make quick work of him.
The heir lays slain on his quest bed, candy red against cobalt blue. He seems to merge with his dreamself on the battlefield. An event that demands attention across the medium, John's death ascends him to his god tier. His panel on wayward vagabond's computer dies. We are at day 612 of homestuck.
Not wanting to be outdone, Terezi arranges something similar for Dave. Although instead of being killed by an aberration of game logic untethered from it's usual role to become an existential threat to reality itself, she tries to get Dave to do the dirty deed. It's not going to happen though, because he can't go through with it. Either he hasn't got the stomach or hes concerned about the temporal logistics of it.
We see what happened after Make Her Pay. There is a handful of cures for death and as we've seen before a kiss is one. But that's not what happened here. Vriska godtiered by being moved onto her bed. A trick that won't be replicated anywhere at all. Tavros really can't catch a break, between the thief controlling his mind and la costa nostra of post-alternia finding it unusual he can't just kill on a whim. He leaves Vriska to bleed to death on her quest bed and flees, covered head to toe in cerulean blood.
Karkat is ignored in favour of creating a bunch of bullshit. Jade then proceeds to deck the halls and go on an alchemitizing montage. She can see into eternity! Happy april 13th, 2009!
And now Eridan wants to give her a gift. It is entirely motivated by hate for Rose after blowing his computer up. Sexily, of course. We learn a little bit more about her pen pall too, being that he's her grandson. A gun is thrown out into the snow as today's upd8 ends.
