Homestuck Re-read Part 33: Please Insert Homestuck Disc 2.

I am feeling, a lot better today. I've managed to put a lot of it out of my mind for the moment, at least. In effort of maintaining that, I'm not going to write any more about it at the moment.

Today is a very short update, less then 50 pages. We're into the second half of Homestuck now I believe. Assuming I am not completely misunderstanding the stats on this page.

I guess, without further ado, we should start to bridge the gap between discs.

Homestuck

Oh the homestuck discs are physical objects in universe and are in Terezi's possession. Huh. That won't come back to cause any problems.

We get what looks like it's going to be a walkabout until we get hit with an error message.

You cannot control Terezi! How can you possibly expect to play this game when you have lost the game disc. All you can do is watch what she decides to do.

So we watch as she explores around. A note is speared into the ground with Nepeta's claws. Purple blood on a page from Mindfang's journal. Attempting to read the note leads to us being dropped into a sound test room with Lil Cal and a dancing Gamzee. She can't seem seem to leave and concludes this is more of Vriska's antics.

Homestuck Disc 2 was in a record sleeve for "I'm a member of the midnight crew." Terezi does however proceed to scratch it by placing the CD-ROM into a vinyl record player.

The scratch extends across the entire face of the disk, seperated in the same way as Dave's insignia on his shirt.

Terezi puts on her Neophyte Redglare outfit, styled after her ancestor troll. She finally reads the note. A challenge to a duel, make sure to bring the puppet. Hey wait, I've heard this song before, the instruments were different but the melody the same.

We read Mindfang's journal again. Assigning Neophyte Redglare was not a token demonstration that hunting Mindfang was futile. The legislacerator hunts her quarry alongside her lusus, the dragon named Pyralspite. The concentrated might of the dragon's gaze burned out the Marquise' vision eightfold, the other only saw red. A fleet of pirate vessels ablaze in the harbor's safety. Just as the dragon took an eye the Neophyte took an arm. The song is always the same, the band is just playing with new instruments. We try to insert disc 2 and play out [S] Seer: Ascend.

[S] Seer: Ascend

Terezi makes makes preparations to walk her ancestor's path. We watch the fight between the two ancestors on her way. Reality begins to break down as motion vectoring artifacts and data blocks freeze and distort. We stop as Terezi reaches the roof, her quarry is sat at a laptop, reading Mindfang's journal scanned and digitized into a PDF. The day of Mindfang's trial before the highblood's court. Lowbloods packed into the seats of the massive arena. Much like the poor slave girl, Mindfang sets upon the crowd's minds. Instead of an aristocrat being undressed, this time one is strung up. Mindfang slays the grand highblood and is free once again. An acquittance owes a debt to be repaid in low profile housing. As we progress, the graphics of the comic break down. Glitching as the damaged datalines on the disc are read by whatever universal CD reader is playing this for us.

Another walkabout. Terezi walks a rainbow path of blood as reality reaches an unsustainable level. A fight between Vriska and Terezi before the court of the highblood. 4 dead heads on his desk. Terezi learns Vriska only killed once, the rest were Gamzee. A coinflip will decide if Vriska fights Jack or if she stays. We never see it land. Reality completely fails.

We are going to need the services of a scratch doctor.
