Homestuck Re-read Part 64: SHOWDOWN.
It's finally done. Getting the go -> ts stubs generator working. Now I can go back to working on my website! I have to implement the blog feature and tags, and also remake the css and some misc javascript bits that I've done. But I might just stop at CSS and call the little interactive islands in the blog not currently working, since I want to try out a few different bits and I'm just getting tired of this project, since it's been all I've worked on for 2 months now.
Anyway, there is around 200ish pages of Homestuck today. I think. I don't know. I suddenly feel super fucking exhausted.
Homestuck
We open with the Dave saying goodbye to the mayor. He tells Rose she might also want to start getting in gear to meet up on lofaf.
Jane takes a break from persecuting Aranea to... have a juggalo land on her. Aranea starts to introduce herself to Roxy before putting her to sleep.
CHERUB MOMENT
Remember last time Roxy was asleep and she met up with Calliope? She is sat alone in her little black hole of darkness, hidden from all other points in paradox space, contemplating her loneliness. A small stage appears, and her vortex starts to change colour. She cowers behind the green curtains.
Everyone's favorite currently dead doggirl is outside.
MEANWHILE
Gamzee is distracting Jane by well, perching atop her. We get another overview of the situation. Dave arrives and is confused by the hope sphere and distressed by the dead Jade.
Brainghost Dirk suddenly becomes a lot more real. Jake believed in him sufficiently to make him actually exist.
DIRK: I am Brain Ghost Dirk.
DIRK: You kissed my boyfriend.
DIRK: Prepare to die.
Terezi then suddenly shows up to attack Gamzee. She starts to monologue over him before Aranea's presence distracts her. She starts to beat him while brainghost Dirk begins to cut Aranea. She offers Dirk a free shot at the ring. Terezi continues to lacerate Gamzee.
HEY DO YOU REMEMBER BEC NOIR
Him and the Parcel Mistress have arrived! Bec's influence over the rings they wear has seemingly forced a truce between the two. They seem to be working together to defend Jade's corpse. It's not entirely clear what their next step is, other then to stop Dave getting to her.
POST-LIFE
Jade doesn't seem to remember how she died. Or, well, what happened after going Grimbark. She isn't really trying too hard to remember though, since she's stressed and knows something is happening. She just wants to sit down and wait for a little bit with Calliope. Calli introduces herself as Callie, the name of her trollsona and then has the idea to make a trollsona too.
JADE: do you think i could make a trollsona too?
CALLIOPE: oh, yes!
CALLIOPE: that woUld be so lovely.
CALLIOPE: can i help?
JADE: sure!
CALLIOPE: which blood coloUr woUld yoU choose?
JADE: the BEST color obviously
JADE: which is green, DUH :p
I love these two. They're so adorable. Jade's trollsona will have horns in additions to her dog ears and is blood sisters with Callie.
Jade stops to ask Callie if they've met before. Something about her voice pokes at memories lingering at the edge of her consciousness where mostly forgotten memories and experiences in half remembered dreams reside. They also clarify that the stage doesn't seem to be from either of their memories.
Jane tries to shoot Bec Noir with a fucking laser. The parcel mistress goes to attack her. Jane summons GCAT in defense. Successfully distracting the pair into chasing it across LOFAF... with Jade's corpse. Dave hears Jane say she can resurrect Jade and leaves to bring back the body. She also reflects on the fact Dave called her a hot mom.
ROSE IS HERE
We get another overview of the current situation showing that Rose has just arrived and looks perturbed. Especially once she spots Roxy. Karkat and Kanaya are running around on foot trying to get the fuck out of doge.
Aranea is still locked in a monologue/duel with Brainghost Dirk. She keeps trying to bait him into severing her arm, so he decides to try and do the Princely Heart thing and destroy her soul. It does not look pleasant.
MEANWHILE
Vriska and Meenah are hanging out in some tower somewhere out in Paradox space. Vriska is upset with Aranea. She's mad that Aranea didn't talk to her and Meenah first. She's upset that it feels like she's watching herself make all her mistakes again. She's scared that Aranea is a near infinitely older version of her who is stuck making the same mistakes she is, and all that implies for her. They're both sad that Aranea just, abandoned them on some half cocked plan.
VRISKA: What if we just........
VRISKA: Gave up on the mission?
...
MEENAH: hell the best choice i ever made involved givin up
MEENAH: one day i said
MEENAH: fuck da throne
MEENAH: ran off to the moon
MEENAH: thats how this whole crazy mess kicked off
MEENAH: and if i didnt do that
MEENAH: i wouldnt of met you 38)

It is nice, seeing them become friends like this. It's nice seeing Vriska actually mature a bit.
Back at the duel
Brainghost Dirk's realness is waning. Rose arrives and questions Dirk on why he is trying to obliterate Aranea's soul. Instead he just instructs her to get Roxy out of harm's way.
Gamzee continues to just stoically allow Terezi to wail on him.
The hope field is so weak, Jane's trident is able to pierce it. Killing him. Brainghost Dirk stops being real, and Aranea is saved from having her soul destroyed. Her psychic hold over Gamzee is also broken. He starts to beg Terezi to stop hurting him. She falters in her duty.
Aranea puts Jane to sleep. Terezi begins to apologize The highblood releases a terrible honk while the worker drone sleepwalks towards Aranea.
Gamzee begins to brutally beat Terezi while glitches begin to reappear on the screen. Each hit degrading the visual quality of the panel.
Jake's death was neither Heroic nor Just, allowing him to live again. Witness to Gamzee's violent punishment of Terezi. Rose cannot tell if this is blackrom or abuse.
We even witness the rare atomic double Juggalo backbreaker before Terezi is cast into the lava.
The trident with Skaia on the end falls in too. We see visions of the terrible state of affairs in it's clouds Karkat and Kanaya prepare to jump the Juggalo.
But the fight is overshadowed by the arrival of Her Imperial Condense atop her battleship. It's imposing figure extending past the borders of the comic.
On the last page, a pair of green curtains are drawn closed. Thank you for reading this upd8. Goodnight.
