Homestuck Re-read Part 74: SHORT UPD8.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. There is 36 pages of Homestuck in today's upd8.
HOMESTUCK.
We are opening with Karkat and Kanaya going to see Echidna. Where, she discussed Karkat with Kanaya, apparently. She just wanted, Karkat to be present it seems? This has prompted Echidna to agree to release the Genesis frog when the time is right. She wanted to check if they are suited to fulfil their duties in the new universe; Kanaya to propagate the troll species and Karkat to guide and lead them. Kanaya also needs to protect Karkat to get him there, and takes the easy route. Leaving him on the floor of Echidna's cave, for safe keeping.
REUNION
Roxy returns from the void with Calliope. She is immediately inspected by Jasprosesprite^2. Jasproseprite^2 is just, so full of energy.
JASPROSESPRITE^2: We phantasmal kittyfolk don't have much use for disguising the thoughts we think to be true in our minds nor do we bother to veil attraction to that which we find sexually appealing! Meow.
JANE: :O
She also provides a bit of insight into the nature of a sprite^2.
JASPROSESPRITE^2: Squaring these sprites, it's a marvelous thing. It opens you up! The selves become curiously multidimensional; concentrated!!
JASPROSESPRITE^2: I recall the lives of many Roses lost. And many Jaspers! Maybe even more than nine. ;3
JASPROSESPRITE^2: Not that any of them matter now they each chased their own laser pointers to their respective futilities and now I am all that's left of them, mrrrr.
Which, I believe is related to hs^2/beyond canon stuff about 'Ultimate Selves'? Which I don't really know a lot about.
We also get this excellent line

She leaves quickly to talk to Kanaya, catching her up to speed on her sprite^2-ness. She remembers things from the pre-retcon timeline
JASPROSESPRITE^2: But after I watched your molecules come apart, as I lay there dying in the great big neon-skied litterbox, there was ONE thing it occurred to me I never got a chance to say to you.
She never got to tell Kanaya she loves her.
Next up, she goes and visits the striders. Both are at, a loss for words.
Next up, Tavros and Jake. Poor Jake, literally hiding in a corner. She returns back to the main group, to inform them about the final kernelsprite. She, does some horrifying transitory move that I cannot describe. And is likely on her way to resurrect Nepeta.
